About Burton Leander Rowing Club
With a history dating back to 1848, Burton Leander Rowing Club is one of the oldest sporting clubs in the region — proudly serving the community for over 175 years. Set on the banks of the River Trent, our club combines heritage with a friendly, modern approach to the sport.
Members enjoy access to over 7km of rowable river, offering a scenic and varied stretch ideal for training, learning, and recreational outings. Whether you’re new to rowing, returning after time away, or looking to develop competitively, our programmes cater for all ages and abilities, including juniors, seniors, masters, and complete beginners.
Beyond the water, Burton Leander is a welcoming social hub, built on teamwork, camaraderie, and a shared passion for rowing. From club events to volunteering, we’re proud to foster a supportive environment where everyone can grow, achieve, and feel part of something special.
We’d love to welcome you to the club — whether for a Learn to Row course, regular training, or simply to experience our rich rowing tradition.
